Hello, our 6 year old son has been recently diagnosed with Perthes and he will be having a VDRO surgery in the next few weeks. Hello Sonia,

My name is Nikki my son Mattias who was diagnosed at the age of 5 with Perthes Disease. When Mattias was 6 he was admitted to BC Children's for 14 days. We started off doing 5 days 23 hour a day of traction and then he had the VDRO surgery. I would be happy to share our experience and answer any questions you may have about the procedure and recovery. Our son is now 8 years old and he is back to playing hockey , baseball and running around with his friends!!
